RESOLUTION 97-79_ <br /> • <br /> A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, <br /> BY AND THROUGH ITS BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> • COMMISSIONERS APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE <br /> COMPREHENSIVE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLAN <br /> FOR INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, Disaster Preparedness <br /> Act, establishes a Division of Emergency Management (DIVISION) <br /> and prescribes the powers and responsibilities thereof; and <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 252, F.S., assigns to the Board of County <br /> Commissioners responsibility for disaster mitigation, <br /> preparedness, response, and recovery; and <br /> WHEREAS, Rule 9G-6, Florida Administrative Code, requires <br /> submission by Indian River County (COUNTY) to the DIVISION of <br /> a triennial update of the COUNTY's Comprehensive Emergency <br /> Management Plan (CEMP) Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, Indian River County updates its plan annually, rather <br /> than only every three (3) years; and <br /> WHEREAS, Rule 9G-6.006(9) , F.A.C., requires that after <br /> determination by the DIVISION that the COUNTY's plan is in <br /> compliance, that the COUNTY approve a resolution officially <br /> adopting the CEMP for Indian River County; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the <br /> 1997/1998 Indian River County CEMP, as approved by the <br /> DIVISION, is hereby adopted. The resolution was moved for <br /> adoption by Commissioner Adams and the motion <br /> was seconded by Commissioner Marht and, upon <br /> being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: <br /> Chairman Carolyn K. Eggert Aye <br /> Vice-Chairman John W. Tippin Aye <br /> Commissioner Fran B. Adams Aye <br /> Commissioner Caroline D. Ginn Aye <br /> Commissioner Kenneth R.
