• <br />1 <br />The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were ex- <br />amined and found correct, were approved and warrants issued in settlement of same. Such <br />bilis and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court, the <br />Warrants so issued from the respective funds being listed in the Supplemental Minute Book, <br />as provided by the rules of the State Auditor, reference to such record and the list so <br />recorded being made a part of these minutes. <br />The County Depository filed its monthly statement, showing receipts and disburse- <br />ments of the various funds, which having been audited were found to be correct. <br />There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />then adjourned. <br />ATTES <br />/14p/4,4. <br />CLERK <br />WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 1950. <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Court House in <br />special meeting at 1Qa00 O'clock A. M., Wednesday, October 11, 1950, with the following <br />members present: W. C. Graves, Jr., Chairman; H. C. Watts, Aubrey L. Waddell and Tom N. <br />Stewart. Absents Sylvester Woods. Also present were S. N. Smith, Jr., Attorney; E. E. <br />Carter, Road and Bridge Superintendent and Douglas Baker, Clerk. <br />As provided by Law the Board then proceeded to review the Registration Books of <br />Indian River County, Florida, and after such review and examination it was moved by <br />Commissioner Stewart, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and unanimously carried, that the <br />Board found no names to be erased from the Registration books of the County. <br />Notary Public Bond for John R. Gould in the sum of $500.00 with American Surety <br />Company of New York as surety was approved October 6, 1950, by Douglas Baker, Clerk Circuit <br />Court, as provided by law. <br />Harry W. Demerow, Superintendent of Public Utilities, representing the City of <br />Vero Beach, appeared before the Board and presented the following letter. <br />City of Vero Beach, Florida <br />October 10, 1950 <br />• To the Honorable County Commission, <br />Indian River County, Florida <br />Gentlemen: - <br />The Mayor and City Council of Vero Beach have asked me to make this formal request <br />that the County Commission askethe State Road Department for all the salvage material in the <br />old Vero Beach Bridge remaining west of the Channel and that the part of the bridge east of <br />the channel to be left in place for a public fishing and recreation pier; that the contractor <br />be authorized to deliver the salvaged materials to the east bridge -head instead of tb the <br />Ft. Pierce, and that the salvaged bridge material be turned over to the City for use in con- <br />structing docks, bulkheading and other improvements on the City owned property on the east <br />shore of the Indian River. The City agrees to maintain the east end of the bridge as a <br />public pier. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />CITY OF VERO BEACH <br />By Harry W.
