• <br /> RESOLUTION NO.97-105 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br /> FLORIDA, IN SUPPORT OF REGIONAL <br /> COORDINATION AND COOPERATION FOR A <br /> PRODUCTIVE WORKFORCE AND <br /> EXPANDED ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES. <br /> WHEREAS,the Vision of the Jobs and Education Partnership is to improve our community <br /> by providing a productive workforce and expanded economic opportunities that meet employer's and <br /> job seeker's needs and enhance the economic development of the region;and <br /> WHEREAS,the Jobs and Education Partnership encourages collaboration between agencies <br /> in planning and implementation of the state workforce development initiatives of one stop centers, <br /> welfare to work programs, school to work programs, high skilnigh wage training and business <br /> development initiatives;and <br /> WHEREAS,the Jobs and Education Partnership is chartered by Enterprise Florida to build <br /> an integrated workforce development system for job seekers and employers in Region 20,which <br /> covers Indian River,Martin,Okeechobee and St.Lucie Counties;and <br /> WHEREAS, the Jobs and Education Partnership recognizes and acknowledges that the <br /> Economic Development Organizations of Indian River,Okeechobee,St.Lucie and Martin Counties <br /> have an ongoing,significant and cooperative working relationship on a regional basis;and <br /> WHEREAS,the Indian River County Commission is represented on the Jobs and Education <br /> Partnership and on the Workforce Development Consortium, which selects Jobs and Education <br /> Partnership members and approves their plans;and <br /> WHEREAS,the Indian River County Commission and the Jobs and Education Partnership <br /> believe that regional coordination and cooperation bring many benefits to our counties as a whole <br /> and individually. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that Economic Development <br /> agencies within each county are encouraged to continue to work together cooperatively with other <br /> economic development agencies in the region thus promoting regional cooperation and initiatives. <br /> The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Adams, and the motion was <br /> seconded by Commissioner Tippin and upon being put to a vote,the vote was as follows: <br />
