TU DAY, J= 7th 1927. <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, met at the <br />Court House in Vero Beach, on Tuesday, June 7th 1927 at 10 o'clock A.M.with the <br />following members of the Board present: John H. Atkin, Chairman.; Geo.A.Braddock; <br />J.W.L9Bruoe; J.J.P.Hamilton and O.O.Helseth. <br />and J. Vf. Knight, Sheriff. <br />Also present were Miles Warren, Clerk <br />The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. <br />Mrs H.J.Kuppers and Mrs Fred E.King, representing the Woman's Club appeared befoi <br />the Doard and announced that the Ford car purchased for use of the County Nurse was <br />paid for in full and on behalf of the Club presented the car to the Board of County <br />Commissioners for the use of the County lUurse. Also check for X40.00 to reimburse t <br />Board for one payment on the car. it was ordered that the car be accepted by the Bo <br />and all future operating expense and up -keep be borne by the County. <br />Claude Olmstead appeared before the Board regarding railroad crossing near his <br />place at wabas so. It wa,s ordered that the County Attorney take the matter up with <br />Florida Past Coast Railway officials. <br />The County Engineer was instructed to repair the road from Gifford to the Indian <br />Rive r. <br />It was ordered that the County Engineer open up the road from Oslo to the Indian <br />River on the same line that the road is now located. <br />At the request of Paul H. Nisle, it was ordered that the County purchase equip - <br />vent to test alcoholic contents of liquors and beer in trials for such law violations <br />in this County. <br />The following resolution was introduced: <br />The Commissioners of the Sebastig. Inlet District having presented to us a <br />resolution asking us as County Commissioners of Indian River County, along with <br />the County Commissioners of Brevard County, Florida, to call on election to be held <br />in said Sebastian Inlet District in each of the respedtive eountiev composing the <br />said district, and in conformity with an act of the legislature of the State of <br />Florida f or 1927 -° an act entitled# An Act Amending Chapter 7976, laws of Florida <br />for the Year 1919 Creating said Sebastian Inlet District"; <br />And in conformity with said request of said Commissioners of said Sebastian <br />Inlet District, and in conformity with the law above mentioned, <br />BE IT FOSOiVED by the County Commissioners of Indian River County that a <br />special election be, and the same is hereby called for June 289 A. D. 19279 in that <br />part of Indian River County, Florida which composes a part of the Sebastian Islet <br />District, for the purpose of determining Owhether the Board of Commissioners of <br />Sebastian Inlet District as now constituted shall be authorisedeto issue additional <br />bonds in the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand ($2500000.04) Dollars for the <br />purpose of enlarging, lengthening, deepening and widening of the Sebastian Inlet <br />as at present located, and the construction and erection of jetties in connection <br />therewith." <br />A mot -ion was made by Geo, A'. Braddock that the above resolution be adopted, <br />and the call for the election in conformity therewith be issued and published ac - <br />co rding to law, seconded by J. J. P. Hamilton, and after discussion thereof, the <br />same was put to a vote which was carried unanimously. <br />r <br />The following persons were appointed Inspectors and.
