1 <br /> qK <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> August 18, 2015 <br /> INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> INTER-OFFICE MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: Members of the Board of County Commissioners <br /> THROUGH: Dori Roy, Assistant to the County Administrator <br /> DATE: August 7, 2015 <br /> SUBJECT: Fiscal Year 2015/16 (October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016) <br /> Blanket Authorization for Commissioners, County Officers, and Staff <br /> for Out of County Travel <br /> DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br /> Presently, Commissioners sit on committees where out of county travel may be required to attend <br /> assigned committee meetings (example: Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council); and <br /> Commissioners, County Officers, and Staff may need to attend legislative conferences, policy <br /> conferences, and meetings scheduled by Florida Association of Counties, National Association of <br /> Counties and local or regional legislative programs. <br /> There are also occasions when it is necessary for Commissioners, County Officers, and Staff to travel <br /> to Tallahassee or other locations in the State to meet with State Representatives, State Senators, and <br /> State Agencies such as the Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Transportation, <br /> and others. Commissioners, County Officers, and Staff may also need to travel out of County in <br /> relation to lobbying efforts for the County's various projects, grants, and legislative priorities or other <br /> proposed legislation. In addition, Commissioners, County Officers, and Staff may need to attend <br /> meetings or hearings related to Florida Municipal Power Agency and All Aboard Florida. <br /> FUNDING: <br /> Funding for this travel has been included in the Fiscal Year 2015/2016 budget. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Approval is recommended for Commissioners, County Officers, and Staff to travel out of county for <br /> current and future assigned committee meetings; Florida Association of Counties, National <br /> Association of Counties, and local or regional legislative conferences or programs; approved lobbying <br /> efforts including travel to Tallahassee when necessary; and Florida Municipal Power Agency and All <br /> Aboard Florida meetings or hearings during the 2015/16 Fiscal Year. <br /> 103 <br />
