a: <br />• <br />Barker & Williams Air Conditioning <br />$3200.00 <br />Holtzclaw Electric $3244.10 <br />On motion of !Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Watts and carried, <br />the Board accepted the low bid of Barker & Williams in the sum of $3200.00. <br />Notary Public. Bond for Jack Tierney in the sum of $500.00 with American Surety <br />Company of New York, as surety, was approved by Douglas Baker, Clerk Circuit Court, as provided <br />by law. <br />Mr. Bruce Ryalls and Mr. Hopp, residents of Sebastian, appeared bef6re the Board <br />and requested the road south of Sebastian known as the Old Dixie Highway be repaired. The Board <br />advised that plans had been made to do this work and the same would be completed within four weeks <br />from this date. <br />A letter was received from Sheriff O'Steen to cancel the appointment of L. W. <br />Silsby, Deputy Sheriff, as Mr. Silsby was no longer a Deputy Sheriff and the same was ordered <br />filed with the Clerk. <br />On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by 'Commissioner Hamilton and carriedo <br />the Board authorized payment of $75.00 to Mrs. Louis Harris, Jr., Supervisor of Registration, for <br />expenses in attending the Supervisors of Registration meeting to be held in St. Petersburg on <br />August 15th and 16th, 1952. <br />On motion of Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Watts and carried, <br />Attorney Smith was requested to write to each member of the County Planning and Zoning Board <br />asking for their resignation in order that new members could be appointed so that an active <br />organization might be formed. <br />Pursuant to.Resolution adopted July 1, 1952, regarding the use of 20 acres of land <br />for the Vero Beach Chapter of the Future Farmers of America, and on motion of Commissioner <br />Warren, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and carried, the Board agreed to lease the land for a <br />period of ten years on the basis of $1.00 per year, payable in advance and Attorney Smith was <br />instructed to prepare the lease for execution. <br />te� �dL`4 K,_V. lerk Baker was instructed to furnish the Board with information regarding the <br />present status of a east and west bridgeheads relating to the old Winter Beach Bridge, also <br />information as to the status of the lease agreement between the County and N. V. Eve. <br />At the request of Mrs. Joe S. Earman, of the State'Welfard Board, and Mrs. Marquis, <br />District Welfare Supervisor, the Board agreed to appropriate $1200.00 in the 1952=1953 Budget <br />for Child Welfare Mork. <br />Mrs. Anne Christensen, County Welfare Case Worker, appeared before the Board and <br />made a report of her activities for the month of July, 1952, and said report was filed with the <br />Clerk. <br />Mr. Cy Cruze appeared before the Board in protest of a proposed truck route near, <br />his property. <br />Troy E. Moody, Tax Collector, appeared before the Board and filed E & I lists of <br />real and personal property for the year 1951 and the same were approved by the Board <br />The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were <br />examined and found correct, were approved and warrants issued'in settlement of same. Such bills <br />and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court, the warrants so <br />• <br />issued from the respective funds being listed in the Supplemental Minute Book, as provided by <br />the rules of the State Auditor, reference to such record and the list so recorded being made a <br />part of these minutes. <br />
