Discussion: <br />Charles W. Sembler, Tax Collector, has notified us that there are 109 tax certificates held by <br />Indian River County, which are assessed at $5,000 or more, that are now eligible for tax deed <br />applications. In connection with this process, there are title search fees of $100 per parcel. <br />According to Florida Statutes Section 197.503(2), the County shall make application for tax <br />deed and pay for any fees and costs on property valued over $5,000. Any fees and costs the <br />County pays in connection with this process will be reimbursed, plus interest, when a tax <br />certificate is redeemed. <br />Recommendation: <br />Board approve the payment -of <br />the requested $10,900 <br />to the <br />Tax Collector and authorize the <br />\ Chairman to sign the attached 109 <br />notices of application <br />for tax <br />deed. <br />ON MOTION byCotnmissioner Adams, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Tippin, the Board <br />unanimously approved the payment of the requested <br />$10,900 to the Tax Collector and authorized the <br />Chairman to sign the notices of application for tax <br />deed, as recommended by staff. <br />7.F.
