13.B. VICE CHAIRMAN TIPPIN - TREASURE COAST COUNCIL <br />OF LOCAL GOVERNMENTS - DINNER MEETING NOVEMBER 8TH <br />Vice Chairman Tippin advised of the annual banquet and meeting of the Treasure <br />Coast Council of Local Governments on November 8, 2002 in Ft. Pierce. He encouraged <br />the Commissioners and department heads to attend and requested that those attending be <br />reimbursed the $25 ticket cost. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously approved <br />reimbursing Commissioners and County employees $25 for <br />tickets to attend the Treasure Coast Council of Local <br />Governments annual banquet. <br />13.E. COMMISSIONER MACHT - MOBILE TRAINING UNIT OF <br />WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD <br />Commissioner Macht advised that the mobile training unit of the Workforce <br />Development Board was out in the parking lot. He suggested we take advantage of this <br />marvelous training facility which is a powerful tool to aid in bringing small businesses and <br />industries to Indian River County. It will be moved to the Homeless Assistance Center for <br />job training. <br />Chairman Stanbridge added that this mobile unit has been serving the community for <br />about a year. The South Florida Water Management District donated $300,000 to Indian <br />River Community College to fund training. It is being used for training civil engineering <br />technicians for the CERP (Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan). The Everglades <br />restoration will be a 50 -year project. <br />October 8, 2002 <br />
