Short title. <br />This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Indian River County Tree Protection and <br />Land Clearing Ordinance." <br />(Ord. Applicability. <br />This chapter shall be applicable to all land lying in the unincorporated area of Indian River <br />County, Florida. <br />This Chapter shall not apply to the following species of mangroves; however, the trimming, <br />cutting, removal, or other similar actions are regulated by the Florida Depart cent of Environmental <br />Protection and/or the St. Johns River Water Management District and these actions may require permits <br />from one of these agencies. <br />Avicennia germinans - <br />Rhizophora mangle - <br />Laguncularia racemosa - <br />(Ord. Purpose and intent. <br />The purpose of this chapter is to provide for the protection and preservation of trees and vegetation <br />within Indian River County in order to minimize environmental degradation caused by unnecessary or <br />excessive destruction of trees and other valuable vegetation. <br />(Ord.
