Mr. Baker felt it is a tragedy that we are losing all our oaks. He believed the density for this <br />project is too high and predicted it will not be a pretty place. <br />It was determined that no one else wished to be heard and the Chairman closed the public <br />hearing. <br />Commissioner Tippin commented as a nearby resident in Oak Hammock and recalled how <br />the area looked when his father used it to hunt deer and turkeys. Commissioner Tippin purchased <br />his property in 1969 because of the oaks and he has the largest live oak, he believes, on the west side <br />t of the river. He is "very prejudiced about the oaks", but because the PD will allow more control and <br />bigger buffers he will support this as long as Mr. Brackett understands he will be watching closely. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Tippin, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Macht, to approve staff's recommendation. <br />Discussion was held about the sidewalks (included in staff's recommendation) and the <br />lighting and recreation. <br />MOTION WAS AMENDED by Commissioner Tippin, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Macht, to include "no noisy recreation". <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED THE QUESTION and the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />CHAIRMAN GINN DECLARED A FIVE-MINUTE RECESS AT 10:35 AM.
