Chairman Adams indicated she would support moving this to a public hearing as per <br /> the recommendation in the memorandum . <br /> Commissioner Stanbridge agreed . <br /> Assistant Administrator Baird mentioned that there is a $ 1 , 000 application fee and that <br /> will be lost if the entire sum is awarded to the Escambia program . <br /> Vice Chairman Ginn thought companies should be discouraged from coming in to <br /> apply at the last minute ; it was unfair to push staff to get everything accomplished by the end <br /> of the year . She also requested from staff an evaluation of the affordable housing presently <br /> available , what is proposed, the locations , and what is needed, so the Board can make <br /> informed decisions in this regard . She felt there was quite a lot of affordable housing already <br /> in the county . <br /> MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Stanbridge to <br /> approve staff' s recommendation . There was NO SECOND . <br /> ON MOTION by Vice Chairman Ginn , SECONDED BY <br /> Commissioner Tippin, the Board approved by a vote of 4 - 1 <br /> (Chairman Adams opposed) remaining with the Escambia <br /> County program as has been decided in the past ; directed staff <br /> to prepare a report for the Board for the end of January- <br /> beginning of February on the status of affordable housing in the <br /> county ; and denied the request for public hearing . <br /> 7.
