Recommendation: <br />It is recommended that the Board of County Commissioners adopt the proposed <br />resolution establishing the Indian River County Extension Services Ad Hoc Committee. <br />Discussion: <br />On October22, 2002, the Board of County Commissioners created the Indian River <br />County Extension Services Ad Hoc Committee. A proposed resolution has been prepared <br />consistent with Section 103.04, The Code of Indian River County, regarding creation of <br />advisory boards. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED BY Vice <br />Chairman Tippin, the Board unanimously adopted Resolution <br />No. 2002-093 establishing the Indian River County Extension <br />Services Ad Hoc Committee. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002- 093 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING THE INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY EXTENSION SERVICES AD HOC <br />COMMITTEE <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County is now at a critical stage in developing <br />educational outreach as it relates to the Clean Water Act and the County's stormwater <br />initiatives; and <br />WHEREAS, an important step in this education is involvement of the Office of <br />the Indian River County Extension Service. and <br />WHEREAS, the creation of an ad hoc advisory committee to assist the Board of <br />County Commissioners concerning the programs of the Extension Service, future <br />direction, and the issue of a water quality position would be beneficial; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 103.04 of The Code of Indian River County provides that all <br />advisory boards or commissions be created by resolution, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Indian River County, Florida as follows: <br />1. Establishment. The Indian River County Extension Services Ad Hoc Committee <br />is hereby established. <br />2. Membership. The Indian River County Extension Services Ad Hoc Committee <br />shall have four voting members, who shall select a Chairman and a Vice <br />Chairman as provided in Chapter 103, The Code of Indian River County.
