PUBLIC DISCUSSION ITEM - REQUEST OF NICHOLAS F. <br />TSAMOUTALES TO DISCUSS WESTCO DEVELOPMENT - RIGHT- <br />OF-WAY ACQUISITION FRONTING WALGREEN'S AT ROSELAND <br />ROAD AND US#1 <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of October 30, 2002 and a letter of October 17, <br />2002: <br />DATE: October 30, 2002 <br />TO: James E. Chandler, County Administrator <br />FROM: James W. Davis, P E , Public Works Directo <br />SUBJECT: Request from Westco Development (Attorney Nicholas F. Tsamoutales) to appear <br />before Board of County Commissioners on November 5, 2002 regarding Right -of - <br />Way Acquisition fronting Walgreen's at Roseland Road and US #1 <br />Attached is my letter dated April 29, 2000 to Brian West, Westco Development, regarding right-of- <br />way acquisition at US #1 /Roseland. Staff has never received a response. Mr. Tsamoutales recently <br />informed me he would speak to Mr. West regarding this issue, but no correspondence has arrived. <br />Staff s position, at this time, is that no additional right-of-way is needed since FDOT has abandoned <br />US #1 six-laning at the request of the City of Sebastian. The pre -application conference on the <br />Roseland Walgreen's was almost six years ago. <br />Also attached is a memorandum from then Assistant County Attorney, Terry O'Brien, agreeing to the <br />contents of the April 19, 2000 letter to Brian West <br />NICHOLAS F.
