RECOGNITION OF ALAN POLACKWICH - ENTRY INAyoN BREAST <br /> CANCER MARA THON IN A TLANTA <br /> Commissioner Macht introduced Alan Polackwich who , with his wife , had just <br /> returned from a trip to Atlanta , Georgia where they entered the Avon Breast Cancer <br /> Marathon . <br /> Chairman Ginn noted that Mr . Polackwich also chairs the Children ' s Services <br /> Advisory Committee . <br /> Alan Polackwich stated that they walked 60 miles in Atlanta for the Avon <br /> Foundation whose goal is the elimination of breast cancer . They raised $ 14 , 600 of the 4 . 4 <br /> million raised in that area . There were 12 walks around the country which netted a total of <br /> 80 million dollars for the fund . He expressed his hope that everyone would keep an eye on <br /> this particular issue . <br /> 6 . APPROVAL OF MINUTES — OCTOBER 2 , 2001 <br /> The Chairman asked if there were any corrections or additions to the Minutes of the <br /> Regular Meeting of October 2 , 2001 . There were none . <br /> ON MOTION by Commissioner Stanbridge , <br /> SECONDED by Commissioner Adams , the Board <br /> unanimously approved the Minutes of the Regular <br /> Meeting of October 2 , 2001 , as written . <br /> 7 .
