E . �ww <br /> County Traffic Engineer <br /> SUBJECT : Memorandum of Understanding <br /> Between Indian River County and the School District of Indian River County <br /> Regarding Access for the Proposed North County Elementary School <br /> DATE : October 157 2001 <br /> DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br /> The Indian River County Public Works Department and the School District of Indian River <br /> County have prepared a memorandum of understanding between the County and the School <br /> District . The purpose of the memorandum of understanding is to provide vehicle and <br /> pedestrian access to the proposed North County Elementary School . The new school is to be <br /> built on the southeast corner of County Road 510 and 90 `h Avenue , near Vero Lakes Estates <br /> Subdivision , and is scheduled to open in the fall of 2002 . <br /> ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br /> The alternatives are as follows : <br /> • Alternative No . I <br /> Approve the memorandum of understanding and authorize the Board of County <br /> Commissioners Chairman ` s signature on the memorandum and authorizing <br /> resolution. <br /> ■ Alternative No . 2 <br /> Deny approval of the memorandum of understanding, and deny access to the <br /> proposed school from County Road 510 and 90 `h Avenue . <br /> RECOiyINIENDATIONS & FUNDING <br /> Staff recommends Alternative No . 1 - approval of the memorandum of understanding . The <br /> School District agreed to the memorandum of understanding at its School Board meeiin (i of <br /> September 25 , 2001 , and executed the attached copies . Funding for the new school, access <br /> roadway, pedestrian bridge and possible traffic signal will be provided by the School District. <br /> There is no funding impact to the County . <br /> NOVEMBER 6 , 2001 <br />
