ACTING VICE CHAIRMAN GINN - COMMENT ON THE <br />RED TIDE <br />Acting Vice Chairman Ginn asked the Board to direct the Public Works Department <br />to formulate an emergency measure when problems of this nature occur to get the smelly fish <br />and algae off the beaches because of their negative effect on tourism. <br />Discussion ensued. Concerns were mentioned about putting staff In harm's way. <br />There was CONSENSUS to direct staff to develop an emergency response plan to <br />take care of the Red Tide problem. <br />14.B. SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT <br />The Chairman announced that immediately upon adjournment, the Board would <br />reconvene as the Board of Commissioners of the Solid. Waste Disposal District. Those <br />Minutes are being prepared separately. <br />ALL BACKUP DOCUMENTATION, RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES, AND CONTRACTS ARE ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />AND ARE HEREBY MADE A PART OF THESE MINUTES <br />There being no further business, upon motion duly made and seconded, the Chairman <br />adjourned the meeting at 9:30 a.m. <br />December 10, 2002 <br />-14- <br />
