respond to questions from the Commissioners concerning tower heights, locations, distances, <br />reasons for constructing this proposed tower, range of transmission, and co -location policy <br />and practices. He advised that there are more options on co -locating by having; shorter <br />antennas such as this proposed tower. They are looking at bringing the heights down to <br />rooftop level in the future. <br />Vice Chairman Ginn decreed there was a definite need to make changes in the <br />County's regulations. <br />Messrs. Gabriel and Fajardo continued responding to the Commissioners as ':a future <br />industry planning and needs. <br />Mr. Fajardo responded to Commissioner Macht's questioning about benc.ing and <br />suppressing the signals and explained his reasoning. <br />Clark Lazar, a degreed electrical engineer from Florida State University, addressed <br />Commissioner Macht's questions advising that the type of technology to which the <br />Commissioner referred is possible in two-way radio but not in cellular technology; the <br />equipment is not designed to do transmitter steering or to redirect a signal in the fast ion that <br />is done in UHF and two-way radio. <br />Mr. Gabriel again asked that the Board uphold the PZC decision. <br />William Abbott, 6075 SW 1" Street, advised that the proposed tower will Le about <br />200 feet from where he plans to build a home for a family member on the additional fi <br />ve <br />acres he recently purchased. He felt that property will be worthless if the tower is )wilt. <br />Peter Robinson, 315 Greytwig Road, advised he owns stock in Nextel. He referred <br />to testimony from prior meetings, advised that he owns 100 acres nearby and has neve <br />r heard <br />from Nextel wanting to use his property. He thought that Nextel could certainly find a <br />different site to locate this tower. <br />Carl Brobst, 5880 1S` Street SW, advised that the new view from his front <br />December 12, 2000 <br />porch <br />
