DESIGNATING JANUARY 5, 2002 <br />AS AMATEUR RADIO KIDS' DAY <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has more than 350 licensed Amateur Radio <br />operators who have demonstrated their value in public assistance by providing <br />emergency radio communications; and <br />WHEREAS, these Amateur Radio operators donate their services free of <br />charge, in the interest of the citizens of the County as well as the world; and <br />WHEREAS, these Amateur Radio operators are on alert for any emergency, <br />local or worldwide, and regularly practice their communication skills: and <br />WHEREAS, these Amateur Radio operators share their skills by teaching <br />others and demonstrating their unique communication skills to the public on Amateur <br />Radio Kids' Day; and <br />WHEREAS, Amateur Radio Kids' Day will take place on January 5, 2002, and <br />members of the Vero Beach Amateur Radio Club will be providing opportunities to <br />experience Amateur Radio communications for the young people of our County on that <br />day. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that January 5, 2002, be <br />designated as <br />AMATEUR RADIO KIDS' DAY <br />Adopted this 18th day of December, 2001. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />7�CLtz�,�• ,,.. , � (�i��scJ <br />Caroline D.
