Keating,"Lona-Ra <br />elopment Director <br />THROUGFIi Sasan Rohani, AICanning S • of '/ <br />FROM: John Wachtel; Senior Planner, Long -Range Planning/ <br />DATE: November 26, 2001 <br />RE: WILSON MASONRN'IS REQUEST TO REZONE 1 ACRE FROM CL TO CH <br />(RZON 2000-09-0122) <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal consideration by the Board of County <br />Commissioners at its regular meeting of December 4, 2001. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />This is a request to rezone 1 acre from CL, Limited Commercial District, to CH, Heavy Commercial <br />District. Located approximately halfway between 65`h Street (South Winter Beach Road) and 67"' <br />Street, the subject property extends from Old Dixie Highway to US 1. As shown in Figure 1, the <br />%L" shaped subject property has more road frontage along US I than along Old Dixie Highway. The <br />purpose of this request is to secure the necessary zoning to develop a contractor's trade building on <br />the site. <br />On October 25, 2001, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted 5 to 0 to recommend that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve this request to rezone the subject property to CH. <br />i I ' <br />Zoned CL, the subject property has been cleared, although it is undeveloped. To the south of the site <br />is a county fire station, a single-family house, and an ammal boarding business.
