Smith, Telecommunications Manager <br /> Department of General Services <br /> Subject: Replacement of ESSX contract with CENTREX contract <br /> BACKGROUND : <br /> On February 13 , 1996 Indian River County Board of County Commissioners agreed to a 60 month <br /> extension contract with BellSouth for the provision of ESSX service. ESSX, which was BellSouth' s <br /> Brand Name for CENTREX, was being replaced by a new product named MULTI-SERV ; the 1996 <br /> contract was Indian River County' s last opportunity to extend the more favorable ESSX service. In March <br /> of 2000, BellSouth tariffed a new CENTREX offering as a replacement for the grandfathered ESSX <br /> contracts and the MULTI-SERV contracts enacted since 19% .
