Aee. <br />Vice Chairman Flescher felt the County should contribute the equipment and defray <br />the set up costs for nonprofit organizations. He thought this would be a continuing concern, and <br />suggested that in the future, staff discuss this with the Sheriff to see if the County could encompass <br />inmate assistance to defray the cost of setting up the equipment. <br />• <br />Administrator Baird noted that the location for the event is not in Indian River <br />County. <br />Chairman Davis acknowledged that the location is about 50 feet on the other side of <br />the C-54 Brevard/Indian River County line. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Vice Chairman Flescher, <br />SECONDED by Chairman Davis, to approve waiving or <br />reducing the standard rental fees for the use of County <br />equipment. <br />Commissioner Wheeler acknowledged the contribution to nonprofits to be a good <br />thing but he wanted to deal with this issue realistically, or enforce the current policy of charging a <br />rental fee, and giving nonprofits a discount. <br />• <br />Commissioner Solari agreed with Commissioner Wheeler and sought clarification <br />as to what equipment was requested. <br />There was a brief discussion regarding rental fees and cost factors. <br />Vice Chairman Flescher believed this should be brought back for review. <br />16 <br />February 10, 2009 <br />• <br />6K 136 PG 787 <br />
