DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />MGB Construction, Inc. has submitted a building permit application for a single-family residence on <br />the subject property. The site is located in an AE special flood hazard zone, base flood elevation <br />23.0 ft. N.G.V D. In the attached letter from the applicant's engineer dated January 28, 2002, a <br />waiver of the cut and fill requirements is requested. The lot area is 1.06 acres. The volume of the <br />100 -year floodplain displaced by the proposed grading plan is estimated to be 1,1 14 cubic yards. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />the waiver request has been reviewed by staff and appears to meet the criteria of Section <br />930.07(2)(d)4. of the Stormwater Management and Flood Protection Ordinance for lots located in the <br />Vero Lake Estates Municipal Services Taxing Unit. <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Grant the cut and fill balance waiver based on the criteria of Section 930.07(2)(d)4. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Deny the cut and fill waiver. Require an on site retention area be provided to compensate for the <br />proposed floodplain displacement. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff recommends approval of Alternative No. 1. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
