Proclamation - Library Appreciation Month - February 2001 <br />The Board entered the following proclamation on the record: <br />1 <br />PROCLAMATION <br />DESIGNATING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY, 2001 <br />AS LIBRARY APPRECIATION MONTH <br />WHEREAS, the Friends and Trustees Interest Section of the Florida Library Association <br />is sponsoring statewide recognition supporting appreciation for all libranes within the State of <br />Florida, including public, private, academic, special, county and regional libraries; and <br />WHEREAS, libraries are a cornerstone of Florida's educational system, providing <br />programs for children families, adults and elders to enrich their understanding of the world; and <br />WHEREAS, the expansion of electronic networks linking libraries and their resources <br />makes possible more easily accessible information for library users in Florida; and <br />WHEREAS, libraries provide residents of Florida entry to important research about health, <br />economics the environment and countless other subjects to support better living conditions and <br />to help our residents live more productive and fulfilling lives; and <br />WHEREAS, libraries support a competitive workforce with basic literacy programs, <br />computers and other resources to help people learn to find, evaluate and use information they need <br />for their jobs, health and recreational needs. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Indian River County Board of <br />County Commissioners that the month of February 2001, be designated as <br />LIBRARY APPRECIATION MONTH <br />in Indian River County, and recognizes the importance of libraries in all of our lives. <br />Adopted this 13th day of February 2001. <br />C tt't'•4•.. <br />i• . • <br />1 <br />41. <br />°..• . ••_ <br />41/1 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Caroline D.
