It was determined that no one else wished to be heard and the Chairman closed the <br />public hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Neuberger, SECONDED BY <br />Vice Chairman Ginn, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Ordinance No. 2003-006 requiring electrical equipment, heating <br />equipment, ventilation equipment, plumbing equipment, air <br />conditioning equipment and other service facilities in special <br />flood hazard areas to be elevated 0.5 feet or more above base <br />flood elevation; amending Chapter 930, Stormwater <br />Management and Flood Protection, of the Land Development <br />Regulations (LDRS), and providing for repeal of conflicting <br />provisions, codification, severability and effective date. <br />9.B,1, PUBLIC DISCUSSION ITEM - REOUEST FROM ELLEN E.. <br />FISCHER. Fischer presented concerns about the increase of development along 6tn <br />Avenue by displaying a color -coded map of the area (not received by Clerk) and a color key <br />handout (placed on file with the backup in the office of the Clerk to the Board) to identify <br />the individual developments. Rockridge is an older development with about 400 homes, <br />with residents of different ages, from different backgrounds and countries. They all agree <br />on many things especially that high density development in Indian River County is not good <br />for any of us. They are concerned about traffic, roads, schools, and recreation, as well as fire <br />and police protection. They know the Sheriffs department deputies are spread thin so <br />February 18, 2003 <br />19.%% <br />a� _•. <br />
