5 . PROCLAMATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS <br /> S. A . PROCLAMATION INRECOGNITION AND SUPPORT OF THE INDIAN RIVER <br /> YOUTH SYMPHONYAND ITS MISSION <br /> The Chairman presented the following Proclamation to Kel LaBranche : <br /> I <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> IN RECOGNITION AND SUPPORT OF <br /> THE INDIAN RIVER YOUTH SYMPHONY AND ITS MISSION <br /> WHEREAS , the Indian River Youth Symphony is strictly and solely a community- <br /> based youth orchestra , formed , registered and operated under statutory regulations <br /> governing 501 c( 3 ) non-profit corporate organizations ; and <br /> WHEREAS , the Indian River Youth Symphony is a member of the Cultural Council <br /> of Indian River County and a member of the American Symphony Orchestra League ; and <br /> WHEREAS , the primary mission of the Indian River Youth Symphony is to support <br /> and encourage the provision of primary and secondary school level string and orchestral <br /> music education , and performance opportunity for all interested youth musicians residing <br /> in and around the Indian River County community; and <br /> WHEREAS , it is the policy of the Indian River Youth Symphony that all student <br /> members belong to , support and participate to their fullest in their existing school <br /> orchestras ; and <br /> WHEREAS , during the past six years, the Indian River Youth Symphony has served <br /> approximately three hundred and fifteen students attending twelve public schools , four <br /> private schools and home schooled : and <br /> WHEREAS , a specifically noteworthy goal of the Indian River Youth Symphony is to <br /> further promote the extension of music programs , group and private lessons and public <br /> performance opportunities to students in the lesser privileged areas of Indian River County. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS , INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the Board recognizes , <br /> acknowledges and proclaims full support and encouragement for the continued existence , <br /> growth and mission of the Indian River Youth Symphony. <br /> Adopted this 20th day of February 2001 . <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> INDIAN RIVER C,Of�UNTY, FLORIDA <br /> Caroline D .
