Pursuant to the Indian River County Code entitled Animal Control , specifically Chapter 302 . Section <br /> 302 . 06 : and Chapter 828 . 27 , Florida Statutes , it is requested that the above referenced employee be <br /> authorized to issue citations for animal control violations . <br /> RECOMMENDATION : <br /> Staff recommends the Board approved the attached resolution which provides Animal Control Officer <br /> I Jason Ouilvie the authority to issue citations for animal control violations . <br /> ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams , <br /> SECONDED by Commissioner Tippin , the Board , <br /> by a 4 - 0 vote ( Vice Chairman Stanbridge absent) <br /> unanimously adopted Resolution 2001 - 018 <br /> authorizing Animal Control Officer Jason Ogilvie to <br /> issue citations . <br /> RESOLUTION NO . 2001 - 018 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY , <br /> FLORIDA , AUTHORIZING ANIMAL CONTROL <br /> OFFICER JASON OGILVIE TO ISSUE CITATIONS . <br /> WHEREAS , Section 828 . 27 , Florida Statutes (2000 ) , authorizes County Animal <br /> Control Officers to issue citations for acts in violation of animal control ordinances ; and <br /> WHEREAS , Section 828 . 27 (4 )(a ) , Florida Statutes (2000 ) , requires County- <br /> employed Animal Control Officers to successfully complete a 40-hour minimum <br /> standards training course having a curriculum approved by the Florida Animal Control <br /> Association ; and <br /> WHEREAS , Animal Control Officer Jason Ogilvie successfully completed the <br /> minimum standards training course at Valencia Community College on January 26 , <br /> 2001 ; <br /> NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY , FLORIDA , that Animal Control <br /> Officer Jason Ogilvie is hereby authorized to issue animal control citations , pursuant to <br /> Section 828 . 27 , Florida Statutes (2000 ) , and Chapter 302 of The Code of Indian River <br /> County , Florida . <br /> The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner <br /> Adams and the motion was seconded by Commissioner <br /> Ti ppi n and , upon being put to a vote , the vote was as follows : <br /> FEBRUARY 20 , 2001 <br /> B , B r ' 0 8 <br /> - 23 - <br />
