(3) Undertake a Customer Service Training Program for all County Employees <br />Commissioner O'Bryan indicated that he wanted all County employees to participate in a <br />customer service training program, starting with the Utilities Division and Building Department, <br />since they have the majority of public interaction. <br />Administrator Baird acknowledged that Indian River State College (IRSC) is scheduled <br />to start the training program next month. <br />Commissioner Solari believed the training would be most appropriate for front-line <br />customer service employees. He suggested identifying the cost per employee, and depending on <br />the cost, to prioritize or limit the attendees. <br />Administrator Baird mformed Commissioner Solari that it would cost $900.00 per day, <br />for a class of 50 employees. <br />Commissioner Flescher did not feel the necessity of sending all the employees to the <br />customer service training. <br />Administrator Baird stated that the employees who deal with the public on a daily basis, <br />approximately 100 people, would be the first to attend the classes. <br />(4) Voter Approval of a Tax Abatement Program <br />• <br />Commissioner O'Bryan said he had to get voter approval for the Tax Abatement Program <br />and that it would be coming to the Board for a vote. <br />4 <br />February 5, 2009 <br />Workshop — Goals for 2009 <br />BK 136 PG 745 <br />
