Gorham, Ph.D. --` <br />Environmental Analyst � V <br />SUBJECT: Beach Preservation Plan Funding - Sector 1 and 2 Beach <br />Nourishment - (North County) <br />Amendment No. 4 to DEP Contract No. 9cI�1 <br />DATE: March 11, 2002 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CO <br />ITIONS <br />The cost sharing agreement between the County and the State <br />D epartment of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the Sector 1 and 2 <br />beach renourishment projects is contained in DEP Contract No. <br />98IR1. This Contract requires periodic revision as project <br />schedules and anticipated costs change. The previous contracts <br />included funding for design, permitting, and Habitat Conservation <br />P lan development. As the County and State move closer to building <br />t he Sector 1&2 project, the attached Amendment No. 4 adds <br />additional funding for construction and monitoring of the project. <br />The result is that the State will fund $8,164,136 of the project <br />and the County share is $3,652,711. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />S taff recommends approval of Amendment No. 4 and the execution of <br />t he attached documents.
