ORDINANCE NO. 2001-003 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY. FLORIDA, AMENDING THE <br />FOLLOWING CHAPTER OF THE LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS (LDRS): <br />CHAPTER 911, ZONING; AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF CONFLICTING <br />PROVISIONS, CODIFICATION, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN <br />RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY LAND <br />DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS (LDRS) BE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. North Barrier Island Special Corridor Regulations <br />The North Barrier Island Corridor special development regulations are hereby established by <br />creating Zoning Chapter 911 subsection 911.20, to read as follows: <br />Section 911.20 North Barrier Island Corridor special development regulations <br />(1) Purpose and intent. The overall purpose and intent of these regulations is to: <br />(a) Preserve and enhance the appearance of the North Barrier Island community, <br />particularly with respect to the scenic appearance of CR 510 and SR A -1-A. <br />(b) Recognize, preserve. and enhance the character of the north barrier island <br />community; <br />(c) Increase property values in the north barrier island; <br />(d) Prevent the establishment of incompatible land uses and unattractive developments <br />in the corridor; <br />(e) Make the north barrier island area consistent with the following vision statement: <br />The scenic North Barrier Island area will retain the feeling of <br />an uncluttered. well maintained residential community <br />Attractive landscaping and special development design <br />considerations for private development and public sector <br />projects will preserve and enhance the natural beauty and <br />scenic vistas that give the North Barrier Island area its <br />special character. Additionally the area will be <br />characterized by scenic, safe, and uncongested roads. and by <br />low-rise, low-density residential neighborhoods. <br />March 20, 2001 <br />BK II7PG527 <br />
