ORDINANCE NO. 2001-003 <br />unreasonable such that the property owner bears permanently a <br />disproportionate share of a burden imposed for the good of the <br />public which in fairness should be borne by the public at large; <br />and <br />The relief granted protects the public interest served by the <br />regulations at issue and is the appropriate relief necessary to <br />prevent the corridor regulations from inordinately burdening the <br />real property. <br />(8) Public Sector Development Guidelines <br />The following design enhancements are guidelines that shall be considered in the <br />design of roadway projects and other public sector improvements within the CR <br />510 and SR A -1-A right-of-way: <br />1. Providing irrigation coverage within medians and interchanges, <br />and along roadway edges. <br />Providing curbed medians and roadway edges in a manner that <br />allows for planting and maintaining more substantive landscaping <br />materials such as canopy trees. <br />3. Providing a separated "recreational path" system (used by <br />pedestrians and bicyclists) that meanders along the corridor and is <br />integrated into the pedestrian systems of individual sites. <br />4. Planting live oaks. cabbage palms, washingtonian palms. pines, <br />crepe myrtles. wax myrtles and other canopy and understory trees <br />found or used within the corridor. No symmetrical arrangement of <br />material is required. <br />5. Providing landscaping, berming and other features that are <br />consistent with line of sight guidelines to signify and enhance the <br />appearance of intersections. access points, medians. and traffic <br />islands and separators. <br />6. Providing lighting for streets and the separated recreational <br />pedestrian path system with lighting structures that blend in with <br />the surroundings or complement the built environment. <br />Using dark colors for support poles and structures used for such <br />things as lighting, traffic signals, utilities, and signs, so that such <br />structures do not "stand out" but blend into the surroundings. <br />Minimizing the number of poles and support structures by <br />eliminating redundant signs and co -locating signs, street lighting, <br />March 20, 2001 <br />
