DOYLE P E <br />AND STAFFED INTERIM .ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: FLORIDA EAST COAST (FEC) RAILWAY COMPANY / <br />ADDITIONS TO FEC BLANKET AGREEMENT <br />BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS <br />The County's underground utilities. which cross the Florida East Coast Railway Company (FEC) nght-of- <br />way are subject to an annual license fee. The Standard Blanket Agreements allow for the continued use of <br />select FEC Railway Company' right-of-way for the purpose of County water wastewater and reclaimed <br />water utilities. Schedule -A (attached) depicts a listing of all known utilities crossing under FEC right-of- <br />ways. The Schedule further defines the annual costs associated with each utility crossing. Three additional <br />utility crossings have been added to the FEC blanket Agreement. previously incorrectly listed under the Cin <br />of Vero Beach. The additional utility crossing are noted as File#228-3-39 File#235-4-1 and File #235-4-2. <br />Attachment -B is an Invoice from the FEC in the amount of 5825.00 for the three additional utility crossings. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends Board of County Commissioner approval <br />of the following: <br />a) Allow for payment to the FEC Railway Company in the amount of 5825.00 for the three (3) <br />additional utility crossings. <br />b) Authonze the Chairman to execute any necessary documents. <br />March 6, 2001 <br />• <br />125 <br />51( <br />r <br />
