requesting 51,500.000 from the local Industrial Revenue Bond allocation to be used in <br />conjunction with S9.951,977 requested from Florida Housing Financing Corporation. Staff has <br />received the Industrial Revenue Bond Application. <br />In order for The Palms at Vero Beach Limited Partnership to be able to issue Industrial Revenue <br />Bonds, Indian River County must hold a TEFRA (Tax Equity Fiscal Responsibility Act) public <br />hearing. Staff had requested permission to hold a TEFRA hearing on Tuesday, December 12, <br />2000. The Board of County Commissioners deferred the TEFRA hearing until the planning staff <br />could do an affordable housing analysis. At the meeting of February 13. 2001 the planning staff <br />presentation showed a need for low income housing. <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends the Board of County Commissioners approve holding the TEFRA Public <br />Hearing on Tuesday, Aprilir, 2001. <br />5 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED BY Vice <br />Chairman Stanbridge, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Macht absent) approved holding the TEFRA <br />Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 3, 2001, as recommended in <br />the memorandum. <br />7.K. At County Commission meetings on January 9, 2001 and February 13, 2001, the Board of <br />Commissioners approved paying for public official bonds for the Clerk of the Circuit Court and the <br />Tax Collector, respectively.
