<br />improving a road in the Winter Beach area and a committee consisting of Commissioner Hamilton

<br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met.at the Court
<br />House in Regular Meeting at 9:00 o'clock A. M., Tuesday, December 2, 19529 with the following
<br />members present: W. C. Graces, Jr., Chairman; H. C. Watts, J. J. P. Hamilton, Aubrey L.
<br />Waddell, and Allison Warren. Also present were S. N. Smith, Jr., Attorney; E. E. Carter,
<br />Road and Bridge Superintendent; L. B. O'Steen, Sheriff and Douglas Baker, Clerk.
<br />Minutes of October 17, 1952, were read and the same were approved upon motion
<br />of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton and carried.
<br />Minutes of November 4, 1952, were read and the same were approved upon motion
<br />of Commissioner Hamiiton,seeonded by Commissioner Watts and carried.
<br />Minutes of November 7, 1952, were read and the same were approved,upon motion
<br />made by Commissioner Warren, seconded by Commissioner Waddell and carried.
<br />Commissioner Warren reported that he had had a conference with the head repre-
<br />sentative of the State Department together with E. M. Becton of the local Mosquito Control.
<br />Board and it was decided that in their opinion the Howard Johnson site was located,too close
<br />to the highway for sensitive instruments and the land was not adequate because approximately
<br />3 aures would be needed for the Mosquito research work.
<br />On motion of Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Warren and carried,
<br />the Board agreed to lease three acres of County owned land for Mosquito Control work.
<br />Mr. Patrick H. Roach appeared before the Board and presented a petition signed
<br />by numerous citizens and taxpayers requesting the County to furnish them with a hard surface
<br />road located on South 20th Avenue from the South City Line to Glendale Avenue. Mr. Roach was
<br />advised the Board would give serious consideration to the request and would endeavor to do the
<br />work as soon as it would be possible for it to do so.
