MISCELLANEOUS BUDGET AMENDMENT #017 <br /> The Board reviewed a Memorandum of April 24 , 2001 : <br /> TO : Members of the Board <br /> of County Commissioners <br /> DATE : April 24 , 2001 <br /> SUBJECT: Miscellaneous Budget Amendment 017 <br /> THROUGH : Joseph A. Baird <br /> Assistant County Administrator\ <br /> FROM : Jason E . Brown <br /> Budget Manager l <br /> Description and Conditions <br /> The attached budget amendment is to appropriate funding for the following : <br /> 1 . On September 15 , 1998 , the Board of Commissioners approved an allocation of Florida Boating <br /> Improvement Program ( FBIP) funds to the City of Vero Beach for Royal Palm Point. The City has <br /> completed the project and is now requesting these funds . A budget amendment is necessary to <br /> move the $20 , 000 originally allocated in FY 1998/99 to the current year. <br /> 2 . Several buildings in the county have been condemned and need to be demolished . The attached <br /> entry appropriates funding from Municipal Service Taxing Unit ( M . S . T. U . ) reserve for contingencies <br /> in the amount of $25 , 000. <br /> 3 . Risk Management has experienced higher than projected revenues and expenses this year. The <br /> attached entry appropriates funding . <br /> 4 . On March 20 , 2001 , the Board of Commissioners approved a COPS MORE 2001 grant application <br /> for $86 ,250. This grant requires a 25 % local match totaling $28 , 750 . The Board approved the use <br /> of Law Enforcement Trust Fund monies for this purpose. <br /> 5 . On February 13 , 2001 , the Board of Commissioners approved buying back the Humane Society <br /> property due to contaminants from the old Gifford landfill . The attached entry appropriates funding <br /> for the purchase of water and sewer ERU 's for the facility . <br /> 6 . On July 11 , 2000 , the Board of Commissioners approved grant agreements for an Edward Byrne <br /> Memorial Grant and a National Criminal History Improvement Program Grant. The Edward Byrne <br /> Memorial Grant provides $ 171 ,404 , which along with the local match of $60 , 000 totals $231 ,404 . <br /> The National Criminal History Improvement Program Grant totals $246 , 500 . The attached entry <br /> appropriates the use of these grant funds . <br /> 7 . Traffic Engineering budgeted for the replacement of two aerial bucket trucks . All bids exceeded <br /> the amount budgeted . The attached entry appropriates funding from Transportation Fund cash <br /> forward . <br /> MAY 19 2001 <br /> - 30 - <br />
