Gorham , l7 <br /> Environmental Analyst <br /> SUBJECT : Change Order No . 2 — <br /> Ranger Construction Industries , Inc . <br /> DATE : April 24 , 2001 <br /> DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br /> Indian River County has contracted with Ranger Construction <br /> Industries to perform emergency dune restoration under Indian River <br /> County bid No . 3041 . Following discussions about the quality of <br /> sand used at the Ocean Ridge and Porpoise Point restoration sites , <br /> on March 22 , 2001 , Ranger agreed to supply and deliver an <br /> additional 650 tons of higher quality sand to the two sites at no <br /> cost to the County . However , by letter dated March 23 , 2001, the US <br /> Fish and Wildlife Service indicated it could not authorize the <br /> additional work due to sea turtle nesting concerns . Change Order <br /> No . 2 credits the County for the cost of the additional 650 tons of <br /> sand that was not delivered and placed . This results in a contact <br /> price reduction of $ 6 , 500 . 00 . <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br /> Staff recommends the approval of change order No . 2 to the <br /> contract with Ranger Construction Industries , Inc .
