• <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The State of Florida, Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) <br />recumres an annual resolution from local governments requesting <br />assistance througn the 3each Erosion Control Program. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends approval of the attached resolution. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Tippin, the Board <br />unanimously adopted Resolution 2002-024 <br />requesting assistance from the State of Florida <br />Beach Erosion Control Program. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002- 024 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />REQUESTING ASSISTANCE FROM THE STATE OF <br />FLORIDA BEACH EROSION CONTROL PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has had damage to structures and/or coastal lands by <br />storms and erosion in areas of public lands, and <br />WHEREAS, the State of Florida has established a Beach Erosion Control Program for <br />providing financial assistance for erosion control and preservation of the beaches within the State. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, as follows: <br />1. The County, hereby requests State financial assistance for implementation of coastal <br />erosion control improvements within Indian River County <br />2. The County hereby designates Jonathan C. Gorham, Ph D., Coastal Resource <br />Manager of Indian River County, as the Project Manager and Agent on behalf of the <br />County. <br />MAY 7, 2002 <br />-33- <br />
