• <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002 - 029 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE FLORIDA <br />DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR A HOUSING <br />REHABILITATION SMALL CITIES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK <br />GRANT FOR FEDERAL FISCAL YEAR 2002 <br />WHEREAS, there are several housing units within Indian River County that are <br />deteriorated and are in need of being rehabilitated or replaced. <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Indian River County Board of County <br />Commissioners to submit an application to the Florida Department of Community <br />Affairs for a Small Cities Community Development Block Grant in the Housing <br />Rehabilitation category to rehabilitate or replace deteriorated housing within the <br />unincorporated areas of the County and benefit persons of low and moderate <br />income. <br />WHEREAS, the proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) <br />application is consistent with the Indian River County Comprehensive Plan; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY; that <br />SECTION 1. The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program <br />is declared to be a workable program for providing rehabilitation or replacement to <br />deteriorated housing within the unincorporated areas of Indian River County as <br />indicated in the proposed 2002 CDBG application. <br />SECTION 2. The Board of County Commissioners hereby directs the <br />County Clerk to execute all necessary certifications for the Community <br />Development Block Grant application to be submitted on May 15, 2002. <br />MAY 7, 2002 <br />611 <br />-75- <br />
