<br /> Mr . McGriff advised that his eyes began to improve in the last four months , and he is able
<br /> to do things for himself. He had responded numerous times to the Code Enforcement people
<br /> and recent learned from a notice on his building that he had to respond to Mr . Russ , which
<br /> he did . He stated that the roof and the interior have been removed and he has done some
<br /> cleaning up of the property , He submitted photographs for the Board ' s consideration which
<br /> he stated were taken the day prior to the meeting . He also advised he had a " blueprint from
<br /> Mr . Leroy Bennett" who was going to repair/remodel the property . He asked if the County
<br /> would allow him to do this .
<br /> Vice Chairman Stanbridge stated that the roof on this property has been falling in for
<br /> years . She was aware that a neighbor has complained and Mr . McGriff advised that the
<br /> neighbor had complained when he was living there, but her house was not any better .
<br /> In response to Commissioner Macht, Director Russ stated that this masonry structure
<br /> was built on a concrete base, but did not appear sound to him ; he felt it would require an
<br /> engineering evaluation before he could recommend repair .
<br /> Commissioner Adams asked to see the plans . She noted it was a floor plan dated
<br /> January 3 , 2000 and asked Mr . McGriff s intention and his time schedule .
<br /> Mr . McGriff advised that as soon as he could reach Mr . Bennett, who is out of town ,
<br /> he would begin work, or he would get another contractor as soon as possible .
<br /> Commissioner Macht AMENDED HIS MOTION to except Mr .
<br /> McGriff s property from the demolition list and allow him 90
<br /> days to substantially move forward with a legitimate plan ,
<br /> properly permitted , to repair and rehabilitate his property . The
<br /> second agreed to the amended motion .
