He asked if Vice Chairman Tippin would consider <br />amending the motion to give the TCSC some help. <br />Commissioner Adams agreed that significant events have been brought to the county <br />as a result of the TCSC. The TCSC has the ability to bring major events to the county <br />will bring substantial revenue in return for a small increase. She supported $25,000 which <br />hi <br />pp rted a $25,000 <br />increase for the TCSC. <br />Commissioner Macht pointed also to the addition of the gun range and the north <br />county's Olympic -size pool on the recreation side as well as tourism sales tax. <br />Vice Chairman Tippin preferred to stick with the recommendation because of the <br />possible reduction in taxes. <br />Assistant Administrator Baird pointed out that a lot of fund balance is coming <br />forward in the next few years with the beach renourishment. Board members had a very <br />hard decision. Tourist tax is running considerably less than last year, about $150,000 less <br />than had been anticipated in the budget. The hotel people are 15% down in revenue. He <br />reminded them that this tax is set aside and is supposed to be used to attract tourism. He <br />could add $25,000 to the fund balance but it is up to the Board. <br />Commissioner Ginn was hesitant to second-guess the TCSC's recommendation which <br />Vice Chairman Tippin has tweaked a bit. <br />June 4, 2002 <br />Vice Chairman Tippin AMENDED the motion, SECONDED <br />by Chairman Stanbridge, to increase the Treasure Coast Sports <br />Commission's grant award by $15,000 for a $55,000 total. <br />84 <br />rl <br />:; r <br />
