We have <br />established a good working relationship withthe firm and this would help in the standardization <br />of this kind of electronic equipment. By dealing directly with the installer, we eliminate the <br />additional cost associated with the library contractor's profit and overhead markup. <br />The initial installation consists of the "backbone equipment", wiring and seven cameras. <br />Ultimately we wish to enlarge the system to sixteen cameras with the capacity that the initial <br />installation provides. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the Board waive the standard bid procedure and authorize the <br />procurement and installation of the security camera system from Siemens Building <br />Technologies, Inc., for a price not to exceed $16,347.00 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Ginn, the Board, by <br />a 4-0 vote (Commissioner Macht absent) <br />unanimously waived the standard bid procedure and <br />authorized the procurement and installation of the <br />security camera system from Siemens Building <br />Technologies, Inc. for aprice not to exceed $ 16,347, <br />as recommended by staff. <br />11.C.4.
