Kafer, Jr., P.E., County Engine <br />Jungle Trail/Pelican Island Wildlife Refuge — CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 for <br />Summit Construction Management, Inc. <br />IRC Project No. 9724 <br />June 24, 2002 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On March 5, 2002, the Board of County Commissioners approved the contract for Summit <br />Construction Management, Inc. in the amount of $1,203,061.21 for construction of the proposed <br />facilities for the Jungle Trail/Pelican Island Wildlife Refuge project. On May 21, 2002 the Board <br />approved revised Change Order No. 1 for an increase of $11,181.68. <br />Due to unforeseen electrical capacity upgrades needed to service the lift stations for this project, <br />Florida Power & Light has provided a revised design for the electrical services to the Cairns site and <br />to the Kennedy site. These revisions result in an increase to the project in the amount of $2,128.00 <br />as outlined in the attached memorandum from Summit Construction ivlanagement, inc., dated June <br />17, 2002. <br />The total additional cost for this change order will be $2,128.00 with 0 additional contract days. The <br />new contract amount, including Change Order No. 1 and this Change Order if $1,216,370.89. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Approve Change Order No. 2 to the contract with Summit Construction Management, Inc. for <br />additional services in the amount of $2,128.00 for a new contract total of $1,216,370.89. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Do not approve Change Order No. 2. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends approval of Alternative No. 1 with funding to come from the Parks Fund Account <br />No. #113-210-572-035.29. <br />• <br />JULY 2, 2002 <br />E" <br />-83- <br />
