Baird ( <br />Assistant County Administrator <br />Ai <br />FROM: Jason E Brown <br />Budget Manager <br />SUBJECT: Office of The Medic l Examiner <br />Request to Increase Cremation Approval Fees <br />The Budget Office has received a letter from Roger E. Mittleman, M.D., District Medical <br />Examiner, requesting approval to increase the Cremation Approval Fees at the Medical <br />Examiners Office, District 19. The Medical Examiner is requesting an increase in fees from <br />$10.00 to $20.00, effective August 1, 2002. <br />Dr. Mittleman has indicated that Cremation Approval Fees have not increased since 1988, and <br />has added that the increase in fees will help offset the increasing costs incurred at the Medical <br />Examiners Office, thereby reducing each county's annual contribution to the Medical Examiners <br />budget. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff recommends approval for the Office of the Medical Examiner District 19, to increase the <br />Cremation Approval Fees from SiO.00 to S20 00 effective August 1, 2002. <br />JULY 2, 2002 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Ginn, the Board <br />unanimously approved the increase in the Cremation <br />Approval Fees from $10 to $20, effective August 1, <br />2002, for the office of the Medical Examiner, <br />District 19, as requested. <br />-21- <br />r,. <br />
