Vice Chairman Stanbridge showed the plaque she received and described the <br />significance of all the items on it, such as the "blue goose", the symbol for the national <br />wildlife refuge system and the medallion of President Theodore Roosevelt, the one who <br />named the Pelican Island Refuge. <br />Chairman Ginn read a letter into the record from Marshall Jones, Jr., Acting Director <br />of the United States Department of the Interior, Fish & Wildlife Service, crediting and <br />thanking Vice Chairman Stanbridge for her tireless and dedicated efforts on behalf of Pelican <br />Island. (Copy of letter is on file with the backup of the meeting.) <br />4. ADDITIONS/DELETIONS AND EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Chairman Ginn advised of the addition of Item 7.H., Appointment of Louis C. Schacht <br />to the Land Acquisition Advisory Committee. She also wished to move item 7.B., <br />Proclamation Honoring Victor Hart, Sr., to 5. <br />5.A. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED BY Vice <br />Chairman Stanbridge, the Board unanimously made the above <br />changes to the agenda. <br />M] <br />Moved from 7.13. <br />Chairman Ginn read the following into the record.
