However, Florida's youngest, most inexperienced drivers lack the funding for effective driver's education programs. This is why the Florida Legislature passed the "Dori Slosberg Driver Education Safety Act" during the 2002 Legislative Session to give student drisers the resources to fund successful driving programs in our schools. We would like Indian River County to pass tnis ordinance, which allows the Cornrnission to add a 53 surcharge to each civil traffic violation. This does not include parking tickets. This ordinance would nave brought 565,298 to Indian River County in 2000. I would welcome the opportunity to work with the Commission to implement this wonderful piece of legislation.
