<br /> SUBJECT: Request for Termination of Able Ambulance ' s C . O . P . C . N . Class B & E Designation
<br /> The Department ofEmergency Services has been notified by Able Ambulance of their intent to terminate nI
<br /> emergency transport in Indian River County . Pursuant to Chapter 304, Section 304. 10, of the Indian River
<br /> County Code of Ordinances, Mr. Gary Burdsall, President of Able Ambulance, has submitted written
<br /> notification to terminate their Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (COPCN) for Class B & E
<br /> ground transports . <
<br /> It is my understanding that Able Ambulance is terminating all business activity and selling their entire fleet of
<br /> ground transport vehicles. The company has already ceased all ground transport activity in Indian River
<br /> County . Since Mr. Burdsall ' s announcement, staff has received requests from two (2 ) companies for
<br /> C . O .P . C . N. applications. These companies plan to submit applications to replace the service provided by Able
<br /> Ambulance following the guidelines contained within Chapter 304 .
