Water Conservation Fund grant for North Sebastian <br />Conservation Area Access Improvements and authorized the <br />Chairman to execute the grant assurances, as recommended in <br />the memorandum. <br />COPY OF CONSTRUCTION PROGRAMS ASSURANCES IS ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERIC. TO THE BOARD <br />7. T. Council on Aging - Vero Beach Senior Center - Pre -Disaster <br />Mitigation Grant Application - Department of Communitv Affairs <br />(DCA) (Funding for Shutters and Electrical Generator to Enable <br />Shelter Designation) <br />In response to Commissioner Adams, Administrator Chandler advised: this request <br />was received yesterday and the application must be in by September 2n1. He recommended <br />approval but wanted to make certain there would be no funding obligation on the part of the <br />Countv at this time. <br />Lincoln Walther, Continental Shelf Associates, apologized for the lateness on this <br />application but infonnation on this competitive grant became available in mid-July. Ile <br />thought the COA has an excellent opportunity to receive it and for the new Center to be <br />designated a primary shelter. The COA may come later to ask the County forlmoney, but <br />there is currently money for a match since they have already raised $1.5 million. <br />ON MOTION by Vice Chairman Ginn, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Neuberger, the Board unanimously authorized <br />the Chairman to execute the grant application and related <br />application documents after review and approval by the Budget <br />August 19, 2003 <br />
