ORDINANCE 2001 - 022 <br /> a ) Is primarily engaged in the business of selling pet supplies and <br /> b_ ) Facilitates pet vaccinations by licensed veterinarians in Indian River <br /> _County , Florida : and <br /> c ) Maintains a list of licensed veterinarians who administer said <br /> vaccinations : and <br /> d ) Provides the list of licensed veterinarians to the Indian River County <br /> Animal Control Division along with a written request to issue animal <br /> licenses . <br /> 3 . Section 302 . 03 of The Code of Indian River County, as set forth in Indian <br /> River County Ordinance 91 -51 , is hereby amended to reflect the renumbering of <br /> section 585 . 69 , Florida Statutes , as follows : <br /> Section 302 . 03 . Annual vaccination and licensing requirement. <br /> a . After the effective date of this chapter, it shall be unlawful <br /> and subject to all penalties provided below for any person to own , <br /> keep , harbor, maintain or have custody of any dog or cat which has <br /> attained an age of four (4 ) months , unless such dog or cat has <br /> been currently vaccinated , licensed , and collared or harnessed in <br /> accordance with the following provisions . <br /> b . Veterinarians shall provide the Indian River County Animal <br /> Control authorities with a copy of the vaccination certificate <br /> pursuant to Section 686 . 69 828 . 30 , F . S . <br /> SECTION IL CODIFICATION . <br /> It is the intention of the Board of County Commissioners that the provisions of <br /> this ordinance shall become and be made a part of the Indian River County <br /> Code and the word 'ordinance" may be changed to "section , " "article , " or other <br /> appropriate word or phrase and the sections of this Ordinance may be <br /> renumbered or relettered to accomplish such intention ; providing , however, that <br /> Sections ll , III , and IV shall not be codified . <br /> SECTION III , SEVERABILITY. <br /> If any section , or any sentence , paragraph , phrase , or word of this <br /> ordinance is for any reason held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be <br /> unconstitutional , inoperative , or void , such holding shall not affect the remaining <br /> portions of this ordinance , and it shall be construed to have been the legislative <br /> intent to adopt the ordinance without such unconstitutional , invalid or inoperative <br /> part. <br /> SECTION IV, EFFECTIVE DATE . <br /> The Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners is directed to file a <br /> certified copy of this ordinance , with the Office of the Secretary of State of the <br /> State of Florida within ten days after adoption , and this ordinance shall take <br /> effect upon filing with the Secretary of State . <br /> Approved and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian <br /> River County, Florida , on this 21st day of August 2001 . <br /> AUGUST 21 , 2001 ell <br /> }ry rr� ^q n <br /> L V 2 <br /> -41 - <br />
