DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Indian River County executed the Construction Contract for 5ih Street SW Sidewalk Improvements <br />on June 5 2001. The original contract amount was 5123,393.00. One previous Change Order <br />changed the total contract time from 60 days to 75 days and changed the contract amount to <br />S125.994.68. <br />The contractor has received 523,339.01 to date and is requesting the release of retainage and final <br />payment in the amount of $102,655.67. The Contractor has submitted a signed Final Payment <br />Affidavit. A payment bond is in effect for this contract. The Engineering Division of Public Works <br />has inspected the completed project and found it to be acceptable. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Approve the request for final payment in the amount of S102,655.67 which includes release of <br />retainage. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Deny the request for final payment and release of retainage. <br />. RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff recommends approval of Alternative No. I. Funding will be from Account No. 109-214-541- <br />067.24. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Stanbridge, the <br />Board, by a 4-0 vote (Commissioner Adams absent) <br />unanimously approved the request of Bill Bryant & <br />Associates for final payment in the amount of <br />$102,655.67, including release of retainage, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />APPLICATIONS FOR PAYMENT ARE ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />AUGUST 7, 2001 <br />BK II9PG065 <br />
