s <br />Commissioner Stanbridge noted that the Florida Forever program allows non -profits <br />to partner with governmental entities and she hoped that non -profits other than the Historical <br />Society would also look for opportunities to partner with the County. She also noted that the <br />St. Johns River Water Management District had been scheduled to discuss the permits for <br />the inner Lost Tree Islands at their meeting today, but removed the item from their agenda <br />because of the Board's action today. <br />Chairman Ginn also noted that the Coast Guard has not yet issued permits for any <br />bridges regarding Lost Tree Islands. <br />Commissioner Macht continued that in 1998 the total cost to the County for the Lost <br />Tree Islands would have been $11,000,000, which has now been lowered to $8,000,000. <br />The County has the support of the municipalities involved and he hoped that the project <br />would be seriously considered by Lost Tree. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Stanbridge, the <br />Board, by a 4-0 vote (Commissioner Adams absent) <br />unanimously authorized staffto submit the Lost Tree <br />Islands project ($5.5 million grant, $8 million <br />County match) and the Hallstrom Farmstead project <br />($1.1 million grant, $200,000 County match) for <br />cost -share funding under the FCT 2001 grant cycle, <br />as recommended by staff. <br />AUGUST 7, 2001 <br />-66- <br />Br( 1 9 G 080 <br />• <br />
