Frame, General Services Director tt rct)x <br />FROM: Mary Powell, Library Services Director)''F <br />SUBJECT: Born To Read Grant Agreements <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Children's Librarian applied to the Division of Library and Information <br />Services for the continuation of the "Born To Read" grant, which targets <br />newborns and their parents. The Division has awarded this project $53,500.00. <br />Partners with this project are TLC (Touch, Love, Communicate) Newborns, a <br />division of the Indian River County Health Department Indian River <br />Memorial Hospital; Fellsmere Medical Center; Healthy Start, WIC; Healthy <br />Families, Partners m Women's Health, and the Friends of the Library. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />The required one third match will be from in-kind services. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff respectfully requests that the Board authorize its Chairman to sign the <br />greements and return to the Library Services Director to be forwarded to the <br />appropriate State Library staff. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Ginn, the Board unanimously authorized the <br />Chairman to execute the Florida Department of State, Division of <br />Library and Information Services, Library Services and <br />Technology Act Grant Agreement, as recommended by staff. <br />AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />SEPTEMBER 10, 2002 11 <br />1 <br />
